My family and I love this place! The atmosphere is very laid back and comfortable. They have mellow music but tvs to watch a game. The food is excellent and there is something for everyone! They even have a weekly special that is totally creative. One great feature is the kids book shelf when you walk in. My kids love picking out a book to read or a toy to play with. Great for us so we can relax and the kids are entertained. This is by far my families new favorite place!

When we came in we sat ourselves and waited for a server. It took a bit to be picked up by a waiter but when we did it the service was perfect. The waiter had perfect timing and was very friendly and actually funny. The food hit the spot too. I had the basic and it was really good, the eggs done perfectly. My girlfriend had the breakfast sandwich and she loved it. 5 stars

We really like Greengrass. It's a great option close to the UWL campus. It has a good range of items on the menu, and the prices are very reasonable. The ala carte pricing is nice, especially for the college crowd. It is family friendly and has a great selection of vegetarian and vegan options. The food is good and the service is friendly and efficient.

The food was really good, such a nice addition to the neighborhood. The place has a great vibe for everyone from students to families. The only issue I had is the extremely slow service. I also really appreciate servers who keep water glasses full and make sure you have enough coffee (a pot for the table is even better), which was not the case here. I hate having to ask for drinks over and over. I am sure they will learn with time. Overall a great place.

We were just visiting the area for the weekend and our family really enjoyed this place. Atmosphere is chill and modern. Food is good and fresh (when there in the right season). Bacon was a thick cut! I liked their multiple selections of egg Benny's. Service was friendly and accommodating. Price is highly reasonable (better than Paneras). But most of all, it's kid-friendly. You walk in and the first thing you see are toys for the little ones to occupy themselves. Hope you enjoy it too!

My friends and I continue to come back to this cafe for there wonderful food, mostly during breakfast hours. The biscuits and gravy are so crispy yet fluffy, the omelettes are amazing, and the pearl st beer pancakes are also worth a taste. Even for lunch, the sandwich I had was filling and tender. I don't think there is a wrong decision when ordering off the menu. Not to mention it is very well priced, and has a kind, spirited wait staff.

Decent all-day breakfast options for a decent value. Their Java-lava pancakes are good. Friendly staff, but sometimes service is slow. They also close too early (8pm).

Probably shouldn't have wanted take out, but that's what we do on Saturdays. I ordered the Count of Monte Cristo, and fries, my husband ordered the Memphis with a side of Mac and cheese. We live right across the Mississippi River in Minnesota so the distance might have changed the order. When we opened what we ordered we got quite a surprise. Husband got a side of coleslaw, not Mac and cheese as he ordered. His sandwich had coleslaw ON IT so why would he order it as a side??? He didn't, either the waitress or cook made a mistake. My Count of Monte Cristo sandwich was not toasted or melted, it was quite soggy. The bread wasn't toasted and the ham and cheese wasn't even melted. A disaster. My fries were very good, better if they were hotter, but again with the distance driven, they were very good. Will have to try eating inside, as take out of what we ordered, was pretty bad. I could tell that this would be good from the moment I stepped in the door. This is my ideal breakfast cafe/hangover hangout. Too bad I live so far away! I had the Cajun Bene, which was (were?!) wonderful and completely unlike anything I've ever eaten for breakfast. The spicy hollandaise teetered on the edge of being too salty, but I loved it. My husband did too, as evidenced by the fact that he kept reaching over to mop the sauce up off my plate with his bread! Our service was friendly and prompt, and I liked it that food never sat up in the window for more than a few seconds. Instead, the friendly cooks would run it immediately out to the tables. Good food, reasonable prices, and homey diner atmosphere: I will be back as often as I can get to La Crosse.

Great atmosphere and outstanding value. Came here with my girlfriend and parents and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cinnamon French toast are HUGE for $2.25/slice. Granola with yogurt and blueberries/strawberries were also good too. Definitely returning here next time we're in La Crosse! Light years better than Fayze's breakfast and Greengrass serves breakfast all day! My only constructive feedback is they need to upload their menu to Yelp or FB page.

I loved this little cafe. I loved the atmosphere. The chairs that didn't match, the exposed ceiling, the pillows on the benches, the toy bins for kids... The staff is also very nice. I like the menu, there area different options compared to your regular diner. We have been here twice and the food was delicious both times!

This will not be my last time visiting for brunch. Amazing Bloody Mary with a full flavored rim of herbs and any choice of beer chaser. Loved the variety of Egg Benedicts and the pancake was delicious and only $1.50!! Great service and homey atmosphere. The decorative pillows is a great touch.

This place surprised me. Not that I assumed the worse I just assumed college food and a nice atmosphere. It was a great clean look that is comfortable and welcoming. The menu is great. There is literally something for everyone..oh and did I mention full bar and relaxing staff. This place works. Come in and read a book, have a meeting or just hang with friends. They have TVs if u need to catch the score but it's mellow music playing and fun all around. The Reuben was fresh and awesome. By the way their beer batter pancakes are made FRESH. and they used Pearl Street Java Lava. Amazing flavor! The Reuben was fine as wine! When I asked about a dietary need the cook came out from behind the Jolly Roger and was really over and beyond to help me out. Truly appreciated and we will be back. Prost!

Cozy, clean, welcoming atmosphere. Service was excellent. Bloody Mary's were fresh and fast. We had eggs for breakfast with fresh sautéed veg and locally made toast. Super yum.

Came for breakfast on a rainy day following advice on this website and we weren't disappointed. The atmosphere is homey and inviting. Waitstaff was very friendly. Couldn't decide what to order as the menu was quite extensive. Finally settled on the Philly steak skillet with a side of their pancakes made with stout beer. Yummy! Hash browns were nice and crispy, just the way I like them. Pancakes were quite unique and delicious. Coffee was good, too. We'll be back. Think the grandkids would like it here because of the toys and books.

Great breakfast place! Our eggs were done just right; the hashbrowns were crunchy a little on the outside the way I like them. Service was fast, efficient and friendly. Coffee cups were being refilled often. We will return! Led Zeppelin in the background too!

Beautiful, open, clean space. Great service. Six of us were greeted and seated immediately by our very friendly and capable waiter. Delicious breakfast, especially the monster cinnamon roll and sausage gravy eggs benny. It was all good.

Excellent breakfast. The pancakes made with java lava stout we awesome, and the fresh coffee from Kickapoo roasters was on par too. Highly recommended of you're in La Crosse.
